Service Description

8 CEUs 8AM-5PM Facilitated by Shelby Krech and Bryce Bradford Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. Bryce Bradford is a coordinator over a federal grant, the Partnerships for Success grant. Bryce has been working for First Call for almost 5 years and is experienced in adding capacity to coalitions in First Call's 4-county service area. Bryce also has a personal passion for fitness and personal well-being, leading to Bryce studying Kinesiology and Exercise Science at the University of Central Missouri. Leading to an in-depth research project over the impact of anabolic steroids on the human body and the evolution of PED use over the past 50+ years. Shelby Krech MPS, MAADC-II, CPS, HRS, YPS, YMHFA, tMHFA. Shelby’s professional experience prior to joining First Call was in higher education and substance abuse treatment. Shelby has found a perfect marriage between her lived experience with substance use disorder and passion for social services as the Family Services Counselor at First Call. She believes that the greatest tool for prevention and recovery is showing up authentically and empathetically for those seeking support of any nature, whether it be the first time or a continued effort. Shelby is a certified Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor II and Youth Peer Specialist in the state of Missouri. Outside of work Shelby is active in a 12-step program and spends lots of time with her sweet shih-tzu Indie.
